Appealing set of three dual-sided color first edition mission charts for Space Shuttle missions 4, 5, and 8, ranging in size from 40.75 x 15 to 52.5 x 11.75, with each signed in black ink by one or more astronauts, including: the STS-4 chart, “Hank Hartsfield, PLT STS-4, Launch 11:00: 00 KSC 6/27/82, Landing 9:09:31 7/4/82 Edwards, Met by President and Mrs. Reagan”; the STS-5 chart, “Vance Brand, CDR of STS-5 in Columbia. Deployment of 1st communication satellites from Shuttle to geosynchronous orbit. 1st operation flight of Space Shuttle”; and the STS-8 chart, “Dan Brandenstein, STS 8 Pilot—Challenger, First night launch & night landing” and “G. S. Bluford.” Rolled and in overall fine condition, with some edgewear and creasing.
