Rare opportunity to own the actual working script of the director - for a film for which he won the Academy Award!

Director of Skippy, he was the youngest Best Director Oscar winner, at the age of 32, and won the award for this very film. Cinematically historic, annotated, unsigned complete director’s working script for the 1931 film, Skippy. 8.5 x 14, approximately 130 pages, bound in full light blue calf with gilt Art Deco design to upper cover and spine. This is director Norman Taurog’s actual working screenplay, written by Sam Mintz, Joe Mankiewicz and Norman McLeod. The script is extensively annotated in pencil and thumbed throughout. Taurog has indicated scene deletions, completions and dialogue changes. From the Estate of Norman Taurog. In very good condition, with faded spine, front cover loose from binding (could be repaired), minor scuffing, rubbing to covers. Taurog was the uncle of the movie’s star, Jackie Cooper. Taurog also directed Elvis Presley more times than any other director. R&R COA.
