The war in Europe has caused so many disturbances I believe it would be advisable to delay negotiations of this sort until affairs are on a more stable basis. In addition, I would not wish to have a dramatization made of my novel without my personal approval of the dramatization, and I would not be able to undertake this at the present time because of a recent severe illness from which I am just recovering.
