Bold ballpoint signatures of John Lennon and Paul McCartney on a blue 4.5 x 3.75 album page. The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained in Bournemouth, England between August 19-24, 1963, when the Beatles were in the town to perform a residency at the Gaumont Theatre. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing and scattered staining. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, and by a letter of provenance from the daughter of the recipient, which reads: “The autograph of John Lennon and Paul McCartney was originally obtained by my father Mr. William Bunton. My father worked at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth, John and Paul were staying in the Palace Court Hotel just opposite in 1963. My father saw them in the foyer of the Pavilion as they were looking at the posters/bills for the forthcoming shows. My father approached them to ask if they needed any assistance and then asked for their autograph.”
