Description

Official color glossy 10 x 8 red-numbered NASA photo (S-68-42906) of the Apollo 10 crew posing outside near their capsule, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "To Rhett, with our very best wishes & many thanks—Gene Cernan," "John Young," and "Tom Stafford." Reverse bears faded NASA caption text and "A Kodak Paper" watermarks. In very good to fine condition, with moderate overall wrinkling, and small bits of emulsion loss to the border. Rhett Turner (Barnwell Rhett Turnipseed III) was the primary Voice of America broadcaster of NASA's Mercury through Apollo space flights. His coverage of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969 helped VOA earn its Peabody Award in that year.
