King of Spain (born 1527) from 1556 until his death in 1598; his eventful reign included Spain's conquest of the Philippines, the establishment of a colony in Florida, and the historic defeat of the Spanish Armada by the British in 1588. Manuscript DS in Spanish, signed “Yo El Rey,” one page, 8.25 x 12, October 10, 1576. Document apparently regarding instructions to royal officials in the new kingdom of Granada, prominently signed at the conclusion by King Philip II. In fine condition.
