Phillips Oppenheim (signature); Max Pemberton (TLS, about a dinner for Sir Wemyss Reid); Lawrence Durrell (ALS, sending thanks for "all-American generosity of spirit"); John Galsworthy (ALS, "I have written no books on criminology"); Arnold Zweig (pamphlet for 'The Case of Sergeant Grischa'); André Maurois (TLS, "I don't know if I ever had any success in life; if any, it can only be attributed to hard work"), plus a photograph signed by his wife Simone de Caillavet; and Hendrik van Loon (TLS, "Good Lord is that street as long as all that? 9437?
