Ledger document recording notes belonging to Joseph Martin of Providence, with a handwritten and signed endorsement in the margin by Ellery as Commissioner of the Continental Loan Office: "City of Newport, Aug't 18, 1786, Joseph Martin of Providence in the State of Rhode Island &c made oath that the certificates described in the list annexed are bona fide his property. Before me, William Ellery C.L.O." In fine condition.
