Two items: a matte-finish 6.5 x 8.5 portrait of the FBI director by Autrey of Hollywood, affixed to its original 9 x 11.25 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in fountain pen, "To Albert M. Bishop, Best wishes, J. Edgar Hoover, 3.8.66"; and a later hardcover printing of Masters of Deceit, published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston in 1961, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "To Hon. G. A. Goodling, Best wishes, J. Edgar Hoover, 6.6.62." In overall fine condition, with tape remnants to the back of the photo.
