Letter containing a generous job offer, in part: "I should be glad to employ the man you recommend at $40 per month, he to have the privilege of visiting his wife at Philadelphia once a month, I paying his fare." In very good to fine condition, with an old mounting strip on the back of the left edge, and related tears. After leaving the White House seven months earlier, Cleveland retired to his estate, Westland Mansion, in Princeton, New Jersey.
