Government official (1906-1992) who served as administrator of NASA from 1961 to 1968, overseeing all the critical first manned launches in the Mercury through Gemini programs; the James Webb Space Telescope, set to launch in late 2021, is named in his honor. Two signed photos: a glossy 8 x 10 bust portrait of the NASA administrator, signed and inscribed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "To Samuel S. Kloda, with all good wishes, James E. Webb"; and a glossy 5 x 7 photo of him in a suit and tie, signed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "James E. Webb, A, MASA 1961-68." In overall fine condition, with some mild bends and creases.
