Desirable limitation page in French for the book La Celestine by Fernando de Rojas, which contains 66 original engravings by Pablo Picasso, 6.75 x 7.5, numbered 314/350, signed below in pencil, “Picasso.” The page reads (translated): “The 66 original engravings by Pablo Picasso which illustrate La Celestine by Fernando de Rojas, translated from the Spanish by Pierre Heugas, were published by the Louise Leiris gallery in the form of prints, each with 50 numbered and signed copies. The 400 copies of the Canton du Moulin Richard-de-Bas watermarked paper book 'La Celestine' bear the handwritten signature of Pablo Picasso, and are justified: 350 copies from 1 to 350 / 30 non-commercial copies from I to XXX / 18 nominative copies / 2 copies marked o and oo for legal deposit. Composed by hand in Garamont size 10, the typography is by Fequet and Baudier. The binding is by Bernard Duval. Printed on the publisher's hand presses, the coppers were scratched after printing. Finished printing for the Editions de l'Atelier Crommelynck, in Paris in January 1971.” Includes a publication page signed by Belgian printmaker Aldo Crommelynck. In fine condition.
