Distinguished German physicist (1845-1923) who discovered X-rays in 1895, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1901. ALS in German, signed “W. C. Rongten,” one page, 5 x 6.5, May 27, 1921. Letter to Dr. H. Stenzel, who had requested a letter of recommendation for Rontgen's former student Rudolf Schuegraf. In his response, Rontgen confirms that Schuegraf had completed an internship at his Institute. Addressed on the reverse by Rontgen to Dr. Stenzl at the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, which remains a global leader in the field. In fine condition.
