Description

"Man must explore. And this is exploration at its greatest"

Spiral-bound NASA manual entitled "Apollo 15 Spacecraft Commentary, July 26-August 7, 1971," prepared at Houston's Manned Spacecraft Center, approximately 900 pages, 8 x 10.5, consisting of the entire communication dialogue and commentary between the Public Affairs Office (PAO), Spacecrafts (SC, which also includes CM Endeavour and LM Falcon), and Spacecraft Communicator (CAPCOM) during the Apollo 15 mission, including all pivotal moments such as countdown and launch, the decoupling of the lunar module from the CSM, Dave Scott and Jim Irwin's three EVAs, return launch and rendezvous, and splashdown and recovery. A notable highlight is CDR Scott's lunar touchdown speech on page 330: "Okay. Okay, Houston. As I stand out here the wonders of the unknown at Hadley. I sort of realize there's a fundamental truth to our nature. Man must explore. And this is exploration at its greatest." Housed in a Lockheed Skunk Works binder. In fine condition.
