Unflown sterling silver STS-107 Robbins medal, approximately 1.5″ x 2″, featuring a raised design of the mission insignia on the face. The reverse features raised text with the launch date of January 16, 2003, the tragic reentry date of February 1, 2003, and the surnames of the astronauts who perished in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. The medal is serial numbered "374" and stamped with the Robbins hallmark on the edge. Condition is mint state. Accompanied by the original plastic box with stiff blue liner. From the collection of a former Robbins Company executive. These commemorative medals were struck following the tragic mission, in which the Columbia broke up during re-entry.
