On FDR's landslide victory: "It is very heartening indeed for the President to receive such an overwhelming vote of confidence"

TLS as first lady, one page, 6 x 9.25, White House letterhead, November 13, 1936. Letter to Mrs. George H. English at the Lafayette Hotel in Washington, in part: "The President and I deeply appreciate your congratulations and good wishes and are very grateful for your loyal support. It is very heartening indeed for the President to receive such an overwhelming vote of confidence." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Just ten days earlier, President Franklin D. Roosevelt had won the 1936 presidential election in the greatest landslide in American history, collecting an overwhelming 60.8% of the popular vote and winning 46 of the 48 states.
