Herb Greene is an American photographer best known for his photographs of San Francisco based musicians, most notably the Grateful Dead, as well as the Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, and other non-Bay Area artists including LedZeppelin, Rod Stewart, and Jeff Beck. His photographs have adorned album covers including Jefferson Airplane'sSurrealisticPillow, Dylan & The Dead, and the Grateful Dead's In The Dark. His photographs have appeared in Rolling Stone and have been exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
