American film and theatre actor (1939–1976) best known for his performance opposite James Dean in the 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause; he was twice nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his roles in Rebel Without a Cause and Exodus. Mineo was tragically stabbed to death at the age of thirty-seven. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 publicity portrait of Mineo by Bruno of Hollywood, signed and inscribed in purple ballpoint, “To Graham, All the best, Sal Mineo, ‘Exodus.’” In very good to fine condition, with the signature and inscription a shade or two light but completely legible, three dings to left edge, and a few surface creases.
