Description

Van Morrison Signed Letter

ALS signed “Van,” two onionskin pages, 6 x 8.75, no date but circa late 1960s. Rambling letter to guitarist Mick Cox, sent from the King Edward Hotel, New York, where Morrison was living with his girlfriend Janet Rigsby. In part: “The trails that lead to one the space between the crowds of thoughts that don’t see trouble come the freedom songs they sing but when can I come into those dimly lit afternoons alone avenues to encounter new dreams one more I answer to myself the selfish self but with cause I’ve seen me be minipulated [sic] and holed and paralysed right in my own mind I do want to know the way the place can be for me to be with what I must to learn and teach, create and preach and perhaps we can make music together again and breath can fill my lungs with warm love. I know no more to live beside the clowns who neither care the only stars are in the sky for all to see if I must learn to be nice to people I must first learn to be good to myself.” In fine condition, with paper loss to top edges. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Pre-certified REAL.
