Silken red 26.25 x 26 fabric flag of the Italian Communist Party used on stage by The Ramones. In fine condition, with slight wrinkling and expected stage use. Accompanied by a copy of a letter of provenance from longtime Ramones tour manager Monte Melnick, in full: “In one of the Ramones’ many times that they played in Italy we happened to play a large venue that the Italian Communist Party had sponsored. The Ramones had no idea that they were the sponsors of the show. When the Ramones showed up at the venue we saw that the whole place was decorated with these Communist flags. Needless to say Johnny Ramone was freaked out (Johnny Ramone’s beliefs were extremely right wing) and we almost didn’t play the show. Here is one of the flags I took from that show.”From The Monte A.
