Description

“Christa and the crew were reaching for the stars”

Participant in the Teacher in Space program as the backup to Christa McAuliffe for the ill-fated STS-51-L Challenger mission. TLS signed “Barbara R. Morgan,” one page, 8.5 x 11, NASA letterhead, May 2, 1986. Heartfelt letter about the Challenger disaster. In part: “I, too, am very sad about the Challenger accident. But one thing that makes me feel better is knowing that Christa and the crew were reaching for the stars and that they believed in what they were doing. They were very happy to be going into space and exploring for our country. I, too, believe in what they were doing. Our future is in the stars and that future is bright.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. Pre-certified Steve Zarelli and RR Auction COA.
