Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey (1713-1779). Revolutionary War–dated engraved New Jersey banknote for "Eighteen Pence," 4 x 2.25, dated March 25, 1776, issued as "No. 28060," signed in ink by John Hart, John Johnston, and John Stevens, Jr. Printed in Burlington, New Jersey by Isaac Collins, with the reverse bearing the cautionary message: "To counterfeit is Death." In very good condition, with irregular heavy toning and soiling. Encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services.
