Two TLS, both one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, both addressed to Julian M. Bamberger, president of the Salt Lake Valley Loan & Trust, Co. The earlier letter, August 9, 1955, in part: “Having been away on several business trips for a period of three months, this seems to be the first opportunity to reply to your letter of June 24th. The man you refer to in your letter is C. L. Rood not Root. He was in charge of my finances for many years, up until a year prior to his death twenty years ago. I know something of the relationship of Mr. Rood to the Chambers Estate. If the information I have will be helpful, I shall be glad to assist you. Believing that you may find them of interest, I am enclosing reprints of the following: ‘Christian Principles in Business’ and ‘These Men from Wyoming.’ I attended only the last day of the Scottish Rite reunion and also was sorry to have missed seeing you.”
The second letter, dated September 8, 1955, in full: “Thank you for your letter of August 26. I am pleased to know that you enjoyed reading the pamphlets I sent you. With regard to your inquiry about Mr. Rood, I thought for a moment that I could help you, but find that I cannot do so. Mr. Rood was with me for ten years as my financial advisor, during which time I learned from him, much about the Chambers Estate. I do know that he was with them for several years. Mr. Rood passed on some fifteen or twenty years ago, and Mrs. Rood passed away within the last year. I regret very much that I am unable to be of assistance to you.” In overall fine condition, with a single file hole to each upper left corner.
