Description

Handwritten notes by Prince with regard to a possible album cover for live shows by Prince and the NPG, one page, 5 x 8, no date. Prince writes, in full: "Picture should be full bleed, try different configurations of the letters: Prince and the N.P.G. / New York, I need 2 look at several designs soon." He writes the band's name and city vertically in the center of the page. In fine condition. Accompanied by the CD booklet prototype for "Prince and the N.P.G. / Los Angeles," featuring a full-bleed image and the text in vertical and horizontal orientations.

Prince's former co-manager Jill Willis recalls: "Prince was planning to release a live CD—or several versions of the same CD—from shows in New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, etc. I don't recall a lot about the project as there were always ideas that were being developed, considered and worked on in various stages. Especially when it came to releasing music."

The Prince Estate is not affiliated, associated, or connected with RR Auction or this auction, nor has it endorsed, authenticated or sponsored the items available for auction. Further, The Prince Estate has not licensed any of its intellectual property to RR Auction.

From the personal collection of Jill Willis (former Executive Vice-president of Paisley Park).
