A pair of High-Temperature Reusable Surface Insulation (HRSI) tiles designed for use on the Space Shuttle Orbiter Thermal Protection System, measuring 8.5″ x 5.5″ x 3.25″ and 10″ x 6″ x 3.75″, with the fronts individually stenciled with white paint: “LWNG408-805-203-1, S83121, V070-191035-017” and “FWN-309-2790, P-362, V07V-391040-253, S80498.” Both tiles are marked as “SCRAP,” with the reverse bearing padding or a red adhesive layer. In overall very good to fine condition, with some cracks and chips; flight status undetermined. Nearly 20,000 of these HSRI tiles were installed on a Space Shuttle Orbiter and were designed to protect areas where temperatures dropped below 2,300 Fahrenheit.
