Brilliant original promotional painting of Gary Cooper by artist E. G. Shipman, depicting the Hollywood legend as Wild Bill Hickok for the classic 1936 Western film The Plainsman, accomplished in graphite, acrylic, and watercolor on an off-white 14.75 x 21.75 sheet of artist paper, which is signed in the lower left in black paint by the artist. A pencil notation to the lower border reads: “Gary Cooper in ‘The Plainsmen,’ Paramount.” Framed and in fine condition, with some light stains to the lower right corner.
