American filmmaker and cult figure (1924-1978) who directed several low-budget science fiction, crime, and horror films in 1950s, most notably Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait, Bride of the Monster, and the notorious Plan 9 from Outer Space, which is often cited as the 'worst film ever made.' Rare vintage ballpoint signature and inscription, "To my new friend, Warren Bryant, with the best of everything, Edw. D. Wood Jr., Aug. 11, 1967,” on the 4 x 6.75 title page of his 1996 book Watts…The Difference, which was also known as Burn, Baby, Burn. In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "MINT 9."
