Handwritten lyrics by Neil Young for the song ‘The Needle and the Damage Done,’ unsigned and untitled, no date, penned in blue ballpoint on a pair of yellow 8.5 x 11 notebook pages. The first sheet reads: “I caught you knockin at my cellar door / I love you baby can I have some more / Oh oh the Damage done / I hit the city and I lost my band / I watched the needle take another man / Gone gone the damage done / east break.” The second sheet, in full: “I sing the song because I love the man / I know that some of you don't understand / milk blood to keep from runnin out / I've seen the needle and the damage done / a little part of it in everyone / But every junkie's like a settin sun.” In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing to one of the sheets. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from REAL.
