Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 7.75 x 10, September 20, 1856. President Pierce directs the Secretary of State to "affix the Seal of the United States to the pardon granted to George Bell." Neatly signed at the conclusion by President Franklin Pierce. In very good to fine condition, with light toning from a prior display, fading to the handwritten portions, and a stain to the bottom blank area.
