It seems that we have not yet reached an understanding of the administrative relationship between us. As to its content, I wish to remark upon two points: first, isn’t it clear that we cannot publish an announcement in one paper only? Such discrimination can cost us dearly. Seconds—and you may consider my further words as personal attitude—but you can rely upon my experience in this respect—it is undesirable and useless, mentioning my name. And in your short notice you mentioned my name three times. Such treatment encourages me, but the public should ignore it. Had the announcement been sent already, there may not be a way to remedy the second matter, but I am skiing you to correct the first; please send the notice to other daily newspapers in the country. And as to public statements, I am requesting you to have them first sent to us for mutual deliberation.” In fine condition, with two file holes and rusty paperclip impression.
