MPL 45 RPM record for the Paul McCartney single, ‘Coming Up / Lunchbox/Odd Sox,’ signed on the front cover in black felt tip. The consignor notes that the signature was obtained outside McCartney’s MPL offices in Soho, London in either 1989 or 1990. In very good to fine condition, with creasing along the top edge.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, which reads: “In 1989 and 1990, I used to work very near Paul McCartney’s MPL offices in Soho Square, London and would often see him. Most times I would just say hello but sometimes I got him to sign. On one such occasion, when I saw the blue Mercedes with MPL license plate marked outside and knew he was in, I went to one of the many second-hand record shops around Soho (most now gone!) and bought a copy of Coming Up as I thought the B&W sleeve would look good signed. Paul signed it in front of me.”
