Fantastic collection of 61 geological maps of the Moon and Mars, published by the U. S. Geological Survey between 1962 and 1982, and prepared in cooperation with NASA and the USAF Aeronautical Chart and Information Center. The collection contains a total of 49 different lunar maps and 12 different Martian maps. The majority of the lunar maps, which measure between 41.75 x 31.75 and 52.5 x 26.5, are 1:1,000,000 scale and include meticulous geologic studies of sundry regions and quadrangles of the moon’s surface. The Martian maps, which measure between 47 x 29.5 and 54.5 x 38, are mostly 1:2,000,000 scale (one being 1:5,000,000), and they all derive from the Miscellaneous Investigations Series, focusing mostly on the location of lava flows in brilliant color. The maps are listed in order by their production number.
