NASA astronaut Jim McDivitt’s United States Air Force dog tag, impressed with his name, “McDivitt, James A.,” service number, “24153A,” tetanus dates, “T-51-55,” blood type, “A Pos,” and his religion, “Catholic.” Attached to the chain is an Italian Staff of the Air Force medallion, 1.25″ in diameter, with the front featuring the raised design of a screeching eagle against a mountain backdrop, and the reverse engraved, “Lt. Col. James A. McDivitt, 17 - 10 - 1967,” with encircling text in relief, “Stato maggiore dell'Aeronautica.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating that the dog tag with medallion were purchased at the McDivitt family estate sale held in Tucson, Arizona, on April 1, 2022.
