NASA astronaut Jim McDivitt’s Buck 111 Classic knife, with a 5″ high-polished aluminum lock back handle with scrolls on either side, one of which is engraved “Gen. Jim McDivitt.” When open, the mirror-polished 425M stainless steel clip point blade extends the knife to an overall size of 8.5″. Includes its original hand-tooled leather sheath marked “Classic” on the front and “111” on the back. In fine condition. As the name infers, this ‘Classic’ knife was produced in the 1980s and is now discontinued. These knives are becomingly exceedingly difficult to find, with this example all the more special given the prowess of its astronaut owner.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating that the knife was purchased at the McDivitt family estate sale held in Tucson, Arizona, on April 1, 2022.
