Description

"How does it feel to be a photographer? I've always wanted to know"

TLS signed “Dick,” one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, December 3, 1969. Avedon writes to art critic, author, and fellow photographer, John Gruen, in full: “Terrific, terrific strong and deceivingly simple piece on Beckett. How does it feel to be a photographer? I've always wanted to know." In fine condition. Avedon refers to Gruen's article on Samuel Beckett entitled 'Samuel Beckett Talks About Beckett,' which was published in the December 1969 issue of Vogue magazine.
