Three items signed by Galbraith: a satin-finish 8 x 10 portrait, signed in the lower border in black felt tip; a TLS, one page, 6 x 6.7, personal letterhead, May 4, 1993, in part: "I suppose I was most influenced by Franklin D. Roosevelt, for whom I once worked. I've written a biography—A Life in Our Times"; and a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, November 6, 1993, in part: "I was much influenced in my thinking by a great succession of economists including: Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill and John Maynard Keynes. I am afraid that your students may have to wait until college to become acquainted with these masters—they are a little outside the high school circle. The highlight of my life came rather early during World War II when I organized and was in charge of the Price Control Policy of the war time years. I think it is because of this step that we do not remember that time as one of serious inflation. But I have also enjoyed my years as Ambassador to India and of course, my years at Harvard and the opportunity, particularly for writing, that it has accorded." In overall fine condition.
