Uncommon commemorative cover with a stamped cachet honoring USS Yorktown (CV-10), the 'Fighting Lady,' postmarked onboard the ship on January 6, 1969, signed in fountain pen, "W. A. Anders." In fine condition. The USS Yorktown served as the recovery ship for Apollo 8, picking up the astronauts after splashdown in the North Pacific Ocean on December 27, 1968. Anders, the Apollo 8 LMP, captured the famous 'Earthrise' photo during the historic flight. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Zarelli Space Authentication.
