Scarce first-place winner’s pin from the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics. Made by Bertoni of Milan and issued to a gold medal-winning participant at the XVII Olympiad, the gold-tone pin features the Olympic rings above a banner with the contest year. Complete with its original paper backing marked as “7887” and its black vinyl presentation pouch made by Bertoni. The consignor notes that this pin was presented to a member of the Yugoslavian football (soccer) team that beat Denmark 3-1 in the gold medal match.
