Two books signed by McMurtry: a first edition of his first book, Horseman, Pass By, hardcover with dust jacket, published by Harper & Brothers in 1961, signed on the first free end page in blue felt tip by Larry McMurtry, with an ownership inscription and struck-through stamp above; and a Popular Library paperback edition of the same work, released under the title Hud in 1963, signed on the title page in black felt tip by McMurtry using his later, less-legible signature. In fine condition. McMurtry's debut novel inspired the film Hud, starring Paul Newman as the title character, which in turn resulted in the paperback re-release of the novel.
