Volume one chronicles in great detail the preparations for the Games, ranging from the torch relay to ticket distribution; volume two documents the celebration of the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics and results of the athletic events, including a depiction of Muhammad Ali—then Cassius Clay—on the podium with his gold medal in the light heavyweight division. The first volume boasts a presentation inscription by Mario Saini, a member of the organizing committee. In very good to fine condition, with some soiling to bottom edges of the textblocks, rubbing to boards, and cracked hinges and a creased spine to the second volume.
