Scarce signed portrait of Civil War surgeon Mary Walker—the only female Medal of Honor recipient

Physician and feminist (1832-1919) who served as an assistant surgeon during the Civil War, was imprisoned by the Confederates, and received a Congressional Medal of Honor for Meritorious Service. Scarce 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite full-length portrait of Walker by E. J. Pulman of Washington, neatly signed on the mount in crisp ink, "Dr. Mary E. Walker." In fine condition.
