Two original cutouts from the 14-foot-long teletypewriter printout used at the Canary Island tracking station for ‘Test 108,’ the Mercury-Redstone 3 space flight that carried astronaut Alan Shepard into outer space inside his Freedom 7 capsule on May 5, 1961. The two fragile sheets measure 4.5 x 2.25 and 8.5 x 2.25 and are accompanied by a detailed letter of authenticity signed by aerospace memorabilia specialist Ken Havekotte, who states: “The printout, covering from the time Shepard entered the capsule on the launchpad to his ocean landing after his 15-minute suborbital space feat, had been saved by The Bendix Corp. Telemetry Supervisor, John Marlowe, during his tenure there from 1958 - 1961.” In very good to fine condition, with a tear and edge loss to the smaller slip.
