Scarce pair of white 'comfort' gloves affiliated with the Apollo 7 mission, both marked inside the wrist: "A7L-103056-03, L/N 015, Size 0205, 74897." Comfort gloves were provided for optional use by crewmen as a glove liner for the A7L spacesuit, and a number of sets of comfort gloves produced for each mission, used in training, and so on. At least one or more of the Apollo 7 crew elected to use them: however, actually assigned comfort gloves had crew members' names stamped on the wrist. The gloves were designed to prevent chafing between the glove and skin, provided a layer of sweat absorption, and made the glove easier to put on. As a pair of gloves created for the first Apollo mission to fly into space, these are particularly early and desirable examples. In fine condition, with expected wear and light staining.
