Estimate: $600+

European Jewish financier (1777-1836) who founded his family’s famous banking dynasty and handled Allied loans for the campaign against Napoleon. Rothschild,” one page, 9 x 14, March 1, 1822. Russian imperial bond for 960 rubles, signed in the upper right margin in ink by Rothschild. Mounted, matted, and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 23 x 20.5. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, and light stains along the central vertical fold from apparent old tape repairs on the back.
