Signed and inscribed prominently on the first free end page in blue ballpoint, "For Wendy, John Lennon." Though the inscription is not characteristic of Lennon's handwriting, it is in the same pen and supported by the provenance letter—perhaps signed hurriedly or playfully with his left hand. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: "This first edition of John Lennon's 'In His Own Write' was purchased as Foyle's of London on its release/publication in 1964. I subsequently met all four Beatles albeit separately in varying circumstances, and got John Lennon to sign this book: 'To Wendy' in the flat at 57 Green Street, Mayfair where they were living."
