English architect (1753-1837) who specialized in the Neo-Classical style, celebrated for designing the Bank of England, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, and his museum in Lincoln's Inn Fields. Also noted as an antiquarian, his diverse collection included rare books and illuminated manuscripts, antiquities from around the world, paintings, sculptures, and architectural drawings. ALS, one page, 4.5 x 7.25, no date. Handwritten letter, in part: "I shall be glad to see you—the book is left out for your perusal." In very good to fine condition, with overall toning and a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top.
