British military officer (1726-1815) who participated in the Seven Years' War, the French and Indian War, and the American Revolutionary War; in the Revolution, he was present at the Battle of Long Island, the Battle of Fort Washington, and the Battle of Brandywine. Revolutionary War-dated ALS signed “Rob't Prescott,” one page, 7.5 x 8.75, February 22, 1781. Handwritten letter to "Colo. Ferguson," in part: "This will be delivered by Lieut. Bowler, 15th Reg't, who will tell his story himself. I can say for him that he is a good soldier and a diligent one. I am sure I need not say more to recommend him to your patronage." In fine condition.
