First woman photographer active in Hollywood (1903-1940) who ran Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's portrait studio from 1925 to 1930. Rare vintage matte-finish 8.25 x 10.75 portrait of the important photographer, signed and inscribed in blue ink, "To Miss Minnick, with kind regards to yourself and your father for whom I have great admiration. Ever yours truly, Ruth Harriet Louise, M. G. M. Studio." Also bears a vertical notation along the left. In very good to fine condition, with moderate contrast to portions of the inscription and signature against the dark background, silvering to the borders, and trimmed edges.
