Exquisite vintage matte-finish 9.5 x 13.5 photo of Taft as Chief Justice of the United States by Clinedinst Studio, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "For Congressman Simmons of Nebraska, with my best wishes, Wm. H. Taft, Washington, April 14, 1927.” In very fine condition. After representing Nebraska in the House of Representatives for a decade, Robert G. Simmons went on to serve as Chief Justice of Nebraska from 1939 to 1963.
