TLS signed “Mountbatten of Burma,” one page, 5.75 x 8, Chief of the Defence Staff letterhead, February 8, 1963. Letter to publisher Sir Stanley Unwin, thanking him for sending "an advance copy of 'The Yankee Marlborough.'" In part: "I regret I shall not be able to give an expression of opinion on it before its publication date, as it is very doubtful that I shall even have time to read it by then." He adds a handwritten postscript: "In this round-the-clock hob reading for pleasure goes by the board!" In fine condition.
